some stories around the projects

“A Passage in Wood”

A few years back I built this decking and moon gate entirely from leftovers. Everything came from what was left behind on a roof job — I asked the site manager if I could take the scraps that were headed for the skip, brought them home, and made it happen.

What would’ve been waste turned into something useful and beautiful. Sometimes the best projects are born out of what others throw away.

“Toymakers’ Table”

My first reclaimed project: toys for kids, made from oak architrave offcuts. They were leftovers from a big office doors job, destined for the skip — but I asked the site manager, took them home, and gave the scraps a second life. From waste to playtime.

“Stillness in the Garden”

The entire backyard was landscaped using reclaimed wood and off cuts rescued from skips. From decking and cladding to bamboo poles originally over-ordered for a Japanese tea house project — every piece has a story. Proof that sustainability and creativity can shape a beautiful space.
